The route
The walk
One point nine kilometres in a circle through the forest park on the ER 104, between Encumeada and São Vicente. Sixty metres of height difference across the whole thing.
Out of all thirty-nine classified trails, this is the only one that starts and finishes at the same point with no transport to arrange. That alone makes it the right choice on a day when the plan has already fallen apart.
The park itself is the other reason to come: tables, benches, fireplaces, running water and toilets, under the trees. People come here to have lunch and walk it afterwards, which is the correct order.
Like the PR 21, the official description is still listed as forthcoming.
Before you go
Where to park
In the forest park itself, off the ER 104. Plenty of space under the trees.
Getting back
It is a loop. Your car is where you left it.
Toilets, water and food
Picnic tables, benches, fireplaces, running water and toilets in the park.
