The route
The walk
Three and a half kilometres out and the same back, along the Levada do Alecrim to a small lagoon at the spring where the water starts.
It leaves from the same place as the 25 Fontes and the Risco, and almost nobody takes it. The three of them share a car park and a first few minutes, and then this one empties out.
There are streams to step across, which is normally no trouble. The Calheta council does warn about one thing: partway along, a path drops off to the left towards Lagoa do Vento, and that descent is a serious piece of walking rather than a detour. Know which one you are on.
Above 1200 m, where the weather turns fast and fog is the normal state. Stay on the marked path. Several stream crossings.
